“Lean In is a reminder to be fully present in whichever stage of life you’re in. I wrote it as I was coming up on the halfway point of raising my kids and realizing how fast time was melting away. Being present daily - not ruminating on the past or future - became the way to live most fully. I tried to capture this energy in music.”
The song is a duet between Jerry Jean and 2024 GRAMMY® winner Nicole Zuraitis with backing vocals arranged and performed by GRAMMY® nominated Tehillah Alphonso. It is a vibrant, genre-blending experience, the essence of raw musicianship from the first moments. Drenched in energized, expressive grooves from dual drummers, funky guitars, soaring strings, a screaming saxophone, and heartfelt vocals, the song ascends from section to section to elicit pure joy.
